Friends!!! I'm excited to be "back" from maternity leave, so to speak. I'm still taking it easy, but really happy to be sharing how we've been doing since baby's arrival 1 month ago. Fortunately, working from home allows me to still get all of my snuggles in with the baby, quality time with my toddler, and of course bring you all the info on my favorite baby products.
(Above and Below: These pictures were taken 5 days postpartum. Baby boy took to the Dr. Brown's Options Bottles right away, and I loved the peace of mind I had using them... so many less bubbles than other brands!)
Everett is growing quickly, and we started using Dr. Brown's Options Bottles to feed him. I so wish I had used these with our first son! WOW; these are truly amazing.
I signed on as an ambassador with Dr. Brown's, and I'm so happy to have partnered with a company that makes such easy-to-use, helpful products. They did not direct me at all in terms of what to say; all of the opinions in this review (and each of my posts) are 100% my own. I genuinely LOVE these bottles.
What a Difference a Bottle Makes
Our babies both had/have acid reflux... severe reflux. These bottles make all the difference in terms of minimizing gas intake. You can literally HEAR the difference; far less air getting through the bottle compared to other brands. You can also SEE the difference; so many less bubbles! One of my Instagram commenters said it perfectly - to paraphrase - "Keep the bubbles in the bottle, not in the baby." She is so right! These Dr. Brown's options bottles truly have the smoothest flow. I'm so happy we chose these.
On my Instagram and Facebook pages, so many of you have lovingly shared your own journey of nursing, supplementing, formula feeding... and have cheered each other on, supporting one another in our motherhood journeys. That really warms my heart. Bottle feeding, for whatever reasons we choose, can be such a positive, bonding experience. It is for our family, and I'm truly LOVING it.
(Below: This photo was taken 3 weeks postpartum. I love staring at the baby, and making eye contact when he's awake, while feeding him. It's truly a magical, bonding experience.)
Easy-to-Wash & No Leaks
The quality of these bottles is great. 've looked at these bottles in the past, like many of my viewers, and wondered, "Wouldn't that bottle just require more washing for the extra parts?" Well let me say... I WISH I HAD CONVERTED TO THESE SOONER. First of all, it really doesn't take much extra time at all; only a matter of seconds! Secondly, that time is nothing compared to the countless loads of "vomit" laundry, the middle-of-the-night sleepless hours consoling a gassy infant, and the heart-breaking tears of a newborn suffering from reflux. No bottle can cure/heal gas, colic and reflux, but these sure do help! It's so worth it.
I've had no trouble with any leaking at all. Truly, as long as I assemble the parts correctly (which sounds obvious, but in the middle of the night when you're exhausted, that's a valid statement!) and I tighten all the components together properly, I have no bottle leaks. Sometimes I'll notice that I don't tighten the lid 100%, and I'll quickly adjust it. No problems; I really love these. Have I mentioned enough times how great these are? You've got to give these a try! And for those of you who want glass, Dr. Brown's makes glass bottles too! Other brands I've used have leaked, so I'm really glad for the Dr. Brown's options ones, which are really dependable and consistent.
(Above: My favorite drying rack in the world! This is also by Dr. Brown's and perfectly holds the various bottle parts and accessories. The water drains to the bottom, and everything dries really well. I love that there's no funky smell, like with some of the other drying mats that you have to wash almost every day... this is the BEST! I highly recommend you get one for drying bottle parts, pacifiers, sippy cups, etc.)
There are great accessories for bottle feeding too; Dr. Brown's makes the most helpful products... everything from bottle sterilizers to formula pitchers. Check out this video featuring some of my favorites.
Thank you for reading along, and being with me through these seasons of life. I'm so thrilled to have welcomed the baby into our family. We are adjusting to the new rhythms of life as a tribe of four. I'm exhausted, I don't get to shower as often as before, and I have to multi-task more than ever... but I've also never been happier. Big thanks to Dr. Brown's for making all the difference in our home life. This time around, feeding is much less stressful, and we're grateful for it!
I highly, highly recommend the Dr. Brown's options bottles, and the bottle-feeding accessories that you can get too. Big thanks to Dr. Brown's for making a world of difference in our newborn feeding experiences; the bonding time has been beautiful!
